I was just on another blog, and the owner of it had put out two challenges. She’d done a beautiful piece of art, then held a challenge for a title. The winning title was “Ocean Dancer,” a rippled blue surface of water with a blue and green abstract that looked very much like a butterfly.
The second challenge was to write and submit a poem about “Ocean Dancer.”
Well, I was going along great guns, getting toward the end, when something happened and off my screen it went. Gone. Just like that. So I started anew, thinking I could certainly remember the words I had just written. Hah! So this time was Draft #2, different from the first.
Would you believe it? The same thing happened to that. So I decided it wasn’t in the writing cards for me to complete that poem. But darn, I really liked it. I am too frustrated to begin a third.
I’ll have to get to my usual writing on 20 Lines, Chronicles, and Brainstorms.
Our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren just came over to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day, and brought sweet gifts. How wonderful it was to finally see the kids again. You can’t imagine how I’ve missed through these past five weeks.
