Competing with each other , is it human nature ? We were taught as children , playing sports to win , winning is better , be a winner ! In older days we were also taught sportsmanship …to lose with as much pride as we had when winning . Competition in the last 20 years has changed , we now put more emphasis on who to blame when a loss occurs . It really goes so much further than sports , It’s in our everyday life . Job competition ,when something happens , as simple as a change of a decision by someone , we have to spend time and money to figure out who’s to blame . I’ve seen divorced persons competing for the love of a child . We sit back and choose sides , while the children of our future learn from us. Is this the message you truly want to send..?
I wish maybe sometimes the competing side of our race would calm down , it’s getting out of control . It’s in our government , the blame game is out of control to the point laws are being broken , broken to prove certain persons are super human and make no mistakes . Humans make mistakes , we make bad decisions from time to time , we need more understanding of human nature , we need more forgiveness rather than finger-pointing .
One of my quests in this new life of mine is to relax my competing instincts and hopefully others will too . This has been on my mind for some time , just need to get this out …

I’ve been thinking about the same sort of things Tim. I’m not typically very competitive, but I have my moments I think…maybe differently than some. I don’t necessarily think competition is bad. Not if it just makes us strive to do better and be the best we can be. But it usually becomes such a ‘me, me, me’ thing, doing whatever you need to in order to get ahead…and I think that’s bad. Not everyone does think it’s bad apparently, though. “Survival of the fittest” and all that. You see it in all those reality tv shows. Good post, and thank you!

Thanks Anne …I was very competitive to better myself , I have found it’s just another addiction that gets out of control for most ….When is it going to be enough..? It will be the demise of us all if we don’t catch ourselves …just my opinion

So do you think the abstract challenges fall into this category too? It just occurred to me that some might think that. It’s supposed to be for fun and not any kind of cutthroat thing. There’s of course no big prize, although my art work is pretty awesome. LOL…just kidding. But mainly it’s just a fun thing to do, I thought.

No I don’t think that falls under this category lol . Yes your art work is extraordinary , we do have a lot of fun playing along.. I love this new venue , with all of you having fun writing and expressing our feelings with no judgment .

I think about that sometimes…a lot of my poetry on here is based on my Christian faith. And there are others who don’t share those same beliefs. But everyone seems very tolerant of the different beliefs, and I’m glad about that. I can’t be anything other than who I am. :) Well…I suppose I could…Lord knows I have tried through my life many times. But it’s no fun. :)
