I didn’t take this photo, and am no way responsible for how awesome it is. Well…except of course that it’s my son in the photo, and I guess I had a little something to do with how awesome he is. I’m thinking about him and waiting to hear that he’s okay with all those storms through the DC and Virginia area where he is. And this is definitely a good example of a fleeting moment…the sun was caught just before it went down and out of sight. It’s one of my favorite pictures. The photo was taken by my brother in April of 2004, at Seaside, FL.

There’s nothing quite like it. I can’t even express the relief when I got that text back. I think I had texted him about an hour before he replied. He said the storms last night were all south of where he is, and all it did where he is, was that a trash can blew over.

Awwww.. I am too glad he replied you back. May GOD keep him safe. Amen,

Thanks Maggie. I’m glad too. And my brother Steve is a terrific photographer…but some of that was luck I think…caught that shot just at the perfect moment. He and his wife were visiting from Colorado at the time, and we’d taken a drive through Destin and out to Seaside. That was the year Hurricane Ivan hit us here in Pensacola, later that year, in September. Was glad they were able to visit before all that happened.
