(Wrote this quick poem this morning and read it to my daughter, who said it was very ‘Dr. Seuss like’. :) I like that! Tee hee!)
Shades of Seuss
I cannot be another me
The only me’s the one you see
I wouldn’t even want to be
‘Cause that would mean that I’m not free
Not free to just be who I am
Sometimes a nut, sometimes a ham
Sometimes stuck in a sticky jam
But always me…yes sir, yes ma’am
Yes ma’am, yes sir, it’s a safe bet
Tomorrow I’ll have not changed yet
The same applies to you, my pet
You are the only you I’ve met.

Thanks! :) I had fun writing it too, and I love Dr. Seuss!

I love Dr. Seuss too. Do you think we could have a Dr. Seuss challenge???
August 24, 2012 at 10:09 am
I thought of that! I think it’s a fantastic idea! :)

When the current one is up, would you do your magic about how to enter, where to put poems for voting, etc.? I’m not tecchie enough to do that. Otherwise I would.

What do you think about just making it a fun challenge…no voting on favorites or anything…just a sort of fun exercise?
August 24, 2012 at 10:22 am
Agreed.
August 24, 2012 at 10:11 am
You want to post the challenge? I think most everyone loves Seuss.
August 24, 2012 at 10:12 am
I think we’re “crossing in the mail” here. I’ll try, but I’m not sure how to do it.
August 24, 2012 at 10:14 am
I’ll go ahead then. :)

Oh, thank you Anne. And I think making it a fun challenge is just right. After all, that’s what Dr. Seuss and his writings were all about. Perfect. And thanks again for posting the challenge. I guess it wouldn’t really matter, then, when it’s up, does it?
August 24, 2012 at 10:27 am
Thank you for suggesting it! :)
August 24, 2012 at 10:29 am
Hey, great minds, yeah? You thought of it first.
August 24, 2012 at 10:31 am
Yeah, but didn’t do it until you said something. :)
