Reblogged from My Life Uncut...Almost:
I have not forgotten, nor have I decided to quit doing the Name That Abstracts. So for those of you who enjoy them, I do too, and stay tuned. Maybe next weekend I'll put some more up for you. I've just been concentrating on other things lately. I have a final exam in my MSA class this coming Tuesday and spent a lot of study time today until I had to go make dinner.

Anne, my mom wasn’t in hospice but she was at that end of life stage when everything that could be done had been done. She had pain. My husband had the wonderful idea of getting her a massage. It was the perfect thing. My mom loved it, and the massage therapist wouldn’t even take any money. I still remember her name (Rhonda)) and her sweet disposition. She said, “Your mother is a dream.” She came back and did a second one and these two massages were so comforting to her. It made me feel so good when I heard her expressions of comfort.
You’re going to make such a difference, Anne. Congratulations on doing what you’re doing. I think you will derive great satisfaction from it.

Awww…thank you so much for sharing that with me Maggie. I know…sometimes just the touch… I know there are some who don’t really like touching elderly people. But touch…it’s so basic, you know? And a good massage can be such a healing thing…can even evoke tears at times. Thanks so much for your encouragement too. ♥
