The Weeping Willow Tree Owner

The yard as I have known her is changing

I am at constant battle with a huge rodent.

They are either trying to flood us out with all their damming.

To now their intent is to level the whole south side of our  home.

So many hours spent

I am hell-bent not to let them win.

So we will take her down ourselves.

As safely as we can.

Oh the Joys of Home Ownership.

  1. Be careful with Weeping Willows … you need to ensure you kill the roots (or remove the stump). As they will continue to sprout new shoots. Another “annoying” aspect of Weeping Willows is that they can sprout from off cuts, this is how they colonise streams.

    • OK well I love my willow and she drinks a lot of water when we are being flooded out. There is not another one any where in this area probably because it gets enough of what it needs to survive here. I thought if we just left the stump and let her re-grow it might be nice but you can see by the bark loss bugs will destroy it if winter here doesn’t.
Thanks for the heads up I always worried about septic and well but 27 years so far so good
