RUST

100_4911

On a cold day here in New England

The shoreline still calls out to us

Our trips here are usually never planned

We just know we must get out or sit at home and rust

JT is always ready for our trips to the shore

We never  have to tell her that is where we are going

She sees him get the metal detector out  and she goes right to the door

On this day she was sad no Frisbee with the way the winds were blowing

He swung his machine over the sand

He left a path of places he had dug and filled back in

Nothing ever seems to go as planned

With him though it usually ends with a grin

His collecting apron has many treasures within

Pull tabs, copper wire and piping and so many coins and rings

Want to know the reason for the grin

Well he is always happy when finding THINGS

So on a cold day with nasty raw winds gusting

JT and I walk into the wind defiant to let it ruin our day

I remind myself we could have been home rusting

So glad we went it was such a pretty day given the fact we stayed

Quaint little New Hampshire town.

Brick buildings downtown all of which are occupied, not bad in this economy.

Ron dropped us off so we could walk and I could capture some images with JT

while he went to scrap some GOLD!

It was a cold New England day but with sun shining it was simply gorgeous!

We have had some really bad floods in our area.

I should  have shot video as the water was flowing under the ice

it was awesome to watch.

Huge ice was breaking apart

Freezing to brush, small trees and others moving with the flow of the river.

I Love the color combo on this home.  In New England we have areas…

“Beach Art” By JT

100_4424

I know you have probably seen the shells that sit along the high tide mark but do you know about Border Collie Art?

She is so well-bred that she leaves an amazing piece of artwork, all along the beach,  as we make or way onto it

for a game of Frisbee.

Can you see her moves up above?

On and on she goes

Round and Round

Catching it

Dropping it at my feet and heading back out for another loop to get ready to catch it again.

I know some of you may tire of my talk about this pup but she really is what keeps us smiling day in and day out pain and all.

She is a beautiful artist,  well at least in our eyes.

Other dogs just come to PLAY she seems to have a method to her madness as do I.

Reblogged from Living and Lovin:

Well by now most of you know our JT (Jess-Tex) at least in photos.  She is our Border Collie and no we do not have a farm.

I have shared my life with fourteen dogs five of which were part of a litter that went on to new homes where they were adored family members.

This dog above was born at a friend's home,  the male  her father was from Texas and they drove from Vermont to pick him up.

Big dog right?

Loved as you can see.

This dog loves to play but on this day in the pouring rain, where I had entered JT into two rounds of Disc Dog play,  this Great Dane had spent the day either taking cover in the back of his owners posh van.  Then he popped out to check out the action on the field.

Laid To Rest Up On The Hill

100_5248

This is a historic area up in Vermont

They discovered  Gold in the river below this hill

I wonder if there are any dead miners who are still around to haunt

The day we were here everything was so still

It was a hot day so into the river we went

He had his pan to search for Gold

I had JT with me and into the water she went

I just put my feet in even though the day was HOT the water was COLD

So as I sat at the stream I thought of the dead up on the hill

Why did they get buried so far up there upon the hill

I will have to check this place out a little more

Not just because of the Gold he scored

Has there been horrible flooding here

You can see this is a very tall hill

A very old place like this is so dear

So should you find yourself  here stop at the top if you will

Fact Finding Walk

100_3017

Well we headed out on a mission

JT was excited to get going

She stood still as I got her collar on, as well  as her Red scarf

We told her to go out to the truck and she sat beside her door

It is just a 10 minute ride  and I could not wait to go see what the lake

looked like

Yes it was in the yard as it always is at draw down.   I am so tired of

losing the land I pay so much for in taxes , as well as all the work I do to make the lower area

just as pretty as the upper yard

So today JT  and I set out on a mission and you will see lots of photos in days to come

I will post most on Living and Lovin and 20 lines Facebook page

Follow along if you have time

She is Black and White  and the Snow is White so  WHY NOT…

No not really a competition for photographers,  this day was all about the dogs but him with his BIG CAMERA, didn't capture THIS FACE!  I was far away using zoom on a day it was pouring out too boot.  While waiting for my little girl to compete, in her very first Toss and Catch competition I filled in hours of waiting with taking photos of  the most expert of dogs doing their thing but JT won 1st and 4th on her two tries,  yes we were so proud of her and the patience she showed that day was amazing!

It has been a very long time since I looked at this photo.  I used to miss this truck so much, then it was the girl  I was, who had gone missing.

Let me tell you some background since a few have asked about the days I spent behind the wheel of an 18 Wheeler(this one has 22 ) .

Naughty Mommy

Play Time

JT has a Very Naughty Mommy

JT has a very bad Mommy

Today we went to the shore

We met new people and even another dog

It was me who had to tell the cute policeman I was sorry

Seems she is not allowed to be a dog at this place we had found

Such a beautiful spot even if it was very raw out today

Next time we are over this way I will be better behaved

HONEST

Some rules I will just never understand or maybe I have just always been a REBEL!

PRETTY DOG

PRETTY DOG

Always ready to come with me

She is such a champ

A little hike it’s going to be

This roadway is more than just a little damp

She really doesn’t want to stop

She has dropped a stick for me to kick and kick along our trip

I am looking for one that is lighter for me to kick without her seeing me make the swap

Yesterday fall was in the air with just that tad more of nip
