Our Day trawling around the Furniture Shops

And so I be in a writing mood or should I perhaps say mode

Today we ventured furniture shopping to adorn our humble abode

Alas we found nothing that took our fancy so

We came back empty handed not parting with our dough

~~~~~
All we want is a simple buffet not the buffet that means food
A cabinet for kitchen we hunted for and we determinedly perused
Some were made of Australian oak, some were laminate
We baulked at prices, workmanship, it was more than we could take
~~~~~

So we are empty handed not a buffet to our name

And we shall hunt again next week and hopefully strike our claim

For how hard is to shop for one, tis harder you than you think

At least now home and feet put up I can have a bloody drink!

‘Morning Rose’

A Morning Rose….First Light

Early morning in the back yard. Birds chirping. Cat in the window looking out, tail swishing. A bed of roses neglected this Summer. My Mom’s roses transplanted here after her death. Old roses. Sentimental roses. I see one beautiful rose in magnificent repose. The others, past their prime, chastise me. ‘Where have you been?’

In the breeze

Bahama Breeze

Bahama Breeze (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

feel it on  sun drenched skin

magical ingredients starting to spin

money can’t buy it , It shows when it wants

some folks believe , when it shows up it haunts.

hair sticking up , not  sure how we feel

one things for sure , we know that it’s real

cools all the air , from the long days heat

we sit on our chairs , wow what a treat

winds what we call it , in winter can freeze

summers not complete without a nice breeze

joyful rain

Rain has come with open arms

Grass has sounded dry alarms

Greening nature it does so well

Growth of gardens we all foretell

Cleans the air for man and beast

Washes away flowers deceased

Symphony sounds from dripping breaks

Downpour sounds of sizzling steaks

Children jumping in puddles of mud

Splashing around in yards that flood

Some with thoughts and looks of pain

When all along we love the rain
