Q: What is this blog about?
A: Primarily writers’ (creative) block, and community.
Q: Are there any rules for contributing poems?
A: Not really. The original intent of the blog was to challenge myself to write a little each day, but as it has evolved into a community, we all have different ways we use the space. Some post quite often, even a few times a day. Some post weekly. Some post sporadically. I allow for that because the space is meant to be nurturing, and I understand how sometimes we have to set our art aside when our lives ask this of us. If the post is adult in nature perhaps you will let me take a look at it first. (This hasn’t come up much but I’m happy to answer more explicitly; Nothing explicit! But seriously, if you want more information on this we can talk about it.) Write and post as often as you like. I hope you will feel supported, inspired, nurtured and encouraged.
Q: Do i just write and post?
Pretty much. I’m happy to take a look at anything with you first if you like, but yes, if you are ready, jump in!
Q: What happens with the copyright?
A: The copyright for your work is yours. I do not make any claims on your work at all.
Q: I read that you have weekly challenges…how do i participate?
A: If you find a prompt or challenge that you’d like to participate in, by all means, do! I’d ask that under Categories, you check the box “Challenge” along with “Poetry” (if it is indeed a poem) so that the pieces are organized as such. If that’s not clear, let me know. Challenges are open for Contributors and Readers alike! If a reader wants to post into the Challenge without the WordPress credentials to post into the blog, they can do so by leaving their submission in the comments section, and generally the author of that Challenge will make it a top level post and credit them, and link to their blog. This is a great way for us to all connect to each other!
Q: What if I have an idea for a challenge?
A: By all means! You can send to me or post it yourself!
Q: Are challenges limited to Contributors?
A: No! In fact, I love it when Followers/Readers decide to contribute their work.
Q: Why is 20 Lines on Facebook and Twitter?
A: For a broader audience and more interaction with them and with each other!
Q: Is there any commitment? Do I have to post each day?
A: You do not. We all have lives to write or photograph. My philosophy about that is that you get out of this site what you put into it, but hopefully at the end of the day, you consider this an inspiring and nurturing community. What a beautiful body of work we are creating alongside each other.
